The struggle to "Free Ajamu" Must Continue, 'til it's won!

Ajamu Bandele - Set up for Speaking Out!

On October 29th, 2008, Ajamu Bandele, then president of the York branch of the International People’s Democratic Uhuru Movement (InPDUM), was arrested by the Pennsylvania State Police, charged with possession of marijuana with conspiracy to distribute. While the State claims his arrest represents a “war on drugs, gangs and crime”, it came when Ajamu was doing serious political work in York to expose the extreme culture of corruption in York, PA.

Before emerging as a leader in the International structure of InPDUM, Ajamu was waging fierce struggle in York, PA around the Corridor 222 Federal Anti-gang Intiative, which the city was attempting to use to guarantee the mass incarceration of York's African and Latino youth. In exchange for keeping the county prison full, York County would receive an $88,000/day allowance, so it was imparitive York City's large African and Latino population become the target of designer and culturally specific laws that would GUARANTEE the arrests of African and Latino youth. These "laws" made everything that our young people do, potential "gang-related" activity. For example, if a girl wears dark eye make-up, "exaggerated" use of hair gel, or dark clothes then she is potentially a gang member. If a young male wears baggy pants, Timberland boots, or a white t-shirt, then he too is a potential "domestic terrorist" gang member.

These anti-democratic assaults on our young people is what motivated Ajamu Bandele to risk his own freedom to defend that of our people, so now we must DEFEND HIS!

The Struggle Continues - Ajamu founds NAPPA

The National Afrikan Political Prisoners Association was founded by Ajamu (July 1) for he recognized the need for an organization that would link the “inside world” to those on the outside, to make a real, collective struggle to defend those African patriots who have been held captive because of their political activity.

NAPPA, also works to expose the still-thriving counterinsurgency and its "new" political prisoners, politicized after getting locked up, who, if released today, would be the new soldiers of the revolutionary struggle to free African people.

Donate Today!

I want to personally thank all those who contributed to this campaign and say that WE WILL WIN. We are still in need of resources for his legal defense, and other pressing needs for the campaign.

Our goal is to raise $5,000 for the building of NAPPA's website (the most immediate need), equipment for the launching of the online radio show on prisons, the 1st printing of NAPPA's monthly newsletter, literature demand for Ajamu (books and newpapers [contact me for a list]), and typewriter for Ajamu who will be doing an editorial for the newsletter. .......
